Tourism of which the has undoubtedly supplied the Caribbean area with immeasurable benefits. For those culture conscious travelers out there, let’s take a look at both the good and the bad.
On the plus side, the high level of tourism from both America and Europe has provided the Caribbean Islands with a robust economy, in what would otherwise be a much poorer area. At this point, the economies particularly of the larger islands that you would visit on a Caribbean cruise have become dependant on the tourist industry and the diminishing of it would result in recession and hardship for the inhabitants of these countries. The idea of sailing off into the Caribbean sunset whilst the trees are turning and the winds are bellowing may not on first reflection seem the best idea in the world. However, think again my Caribbean cruising friends and don’t be fooled by your first impressions.
You may not realize that the price of a cruise can drop by several hundred dollars quite literally over night, and if you think the temperatures change that quickly, you’re wrong. The Caribbean is one of the most popular cruise and stay destinations in the world. The great weather and huge number of islands make Caribbean cruises so popular. The Caribbean is also home to a lot of cruise liners all of which are unique in their own way.
There are roughly 20 cruise lines that sail the Caribbean sea. Most people, particularly Americans choose the bigger cruise ships like the Royal Caribbean. Ships like the Royal Caribbean have a lot of amenities and provide a lot of onboard events for its customers. Unfortunately due to the size of the larger cruise ships, they can only dock at the larger ports. Smaller ships operated by the likes of Windstar are able to get into these smaller, more obscure ports that are usually quieter.

Everyone knows that a Caribbean Cruise is the ultimate in holiday choices, but who really knows anything about the area, and about what one should expect when looking out from your cruise.
The Caribbean Island groups, numbering approximately 7,000, create a crescent that contains the Caribbean Sea, separating it from the Atlantic. Geologically speaking, where you will travel on a cruise is separate from the continents of both the Americas. The tectonic plate on which the area sits is active and moving; the islands act as a fairly good indicator of the edge of the plate and are, for the most part, the result of volcanic and seismic activity in the area. For this reason, you will find in the area a great deal of rough terrain, very harsh landscapes of hard impermeable rocks, creating breathtaking views as well as unparalleled hiking and climbing opportunities.
